‘The most challenging, emotional and rewarding week’: Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew shares unseen snap of her newborn baby girl Molly… before admitting she was ‘naive’ to think parenting wouldn’t be difficult

She welcomed her first child, baby girl Molly, on Wednesday last week.

And on Tuesday, Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew took to Instagram to share an adoring new snap of her bundle of joy.

Alongside the photo, the 36-year-old also took the opportunity to admit that her views of parenting have changed since Molly entered her life.

In the caption, she wrote: ‘When people told me parenting was hard, I nodded and smugly thought that 15 years of early mornings and overnight shifts would stand me in good stead.

‘Well, well, well, wasn’t I blissfully naive. This has been the most challenging, emotional and yet rewarding week.’

She continued: ‘I haven’t really given much thought to Christmas but I have given a lot of thought to family. We have decided to decorate the tree tonight for Molly and probably just rewrap some baby toys! Sorry pet.’

Edwina went on to say: ‘I hope you have the most magical time wherever you are. Our farm Warramba is right in the thick of the fires so I appreciate many people won't have a Christmas at all.’

Her post comes after the Channel Seven presenter debuted her newborn on Friday, just two days after giving birth to her.

At the time, she uploaded two adorable snaps of the tiny baby – taken just moments after she was born – and revealed why she and her husband Neil Varcoe chose her very traditional name.
